ABOUT ME
My name is Lauren Isabelle Pierre. I'm a 19-year-old writer and illustrator passionate about creating quality stories with memorable characters for children, and children-at-heart! My stories put emphasis on positive traits such as compassion and self-worth, often presenting these qualities in a lighthearted, meaningful way. I hope to do my part in making this world a better place through heartfelt storytelling and characters that kids can look up to.
WHAT I'VE DONE
I've written and illustrated three children's books since 2015:
Ollie the Opossum: A tale of loving yourself (picture book, 2015); Tip & Lulu: A tale of two friends (picture book, 2016); and The Shepherd and the Sower (children's comic, 2017). In 2017, I illustrated The Panda that Learned to Ignore, a collaborative project between me and my little brother. All of my books are available to buy/review on Amazon or Goodreads.
WHAT I DO
I write stories, make comics, and illustrate. Primarily a digital artist, I use software like Clip Studio Paint and tools such as my Wacom Bamboo Splash drawing tablet to draw. I'm self-taught and received most of my art education via independent study, though if the opportunity presented itself, I'd love to take classes. My favorite drawing subjects are kids and funny animals, but I'm always willing to learn and in most cases love a good challenge.
